I wrote a poem called ‘my voids’. It concerns emotions of chaos in wich we find emptiness and in that emptiness lays chaos. I combined the poem with drawings that visualise these emotions and combined the poem and drawings with complex paper carving to express the tension of the meaning.

‘Surrounded by flakes of emotions
my swollen fingers curl up into words
lines and frictions in my mouth
a space of chaos, kind of blown distortion

Thoughts are moving upwards
nourrished by worn skin
riot like atomic cells
in chemical reactions

I’m breathing rocks into the background
and eating marrow from the bone
my thoughts are weightless like paper
and scatter in my eyes

creating voids to avoid my own’
